Could my body wash be causing my itchy skin?
Are you experiencing increased skin irritation and itchiness? You may be asking yourself – could my body wash be causing my itchy skin?
Yes! Your body wash could be causing your skin to be dry and itchy.
The commonest cause of itchy skin is dryness and shower gels contain powerful cleansers (even detergents) which latch onto the oils and grime to remove them.
How can you help itchy skin caused by body wash?
If you shower frequently, enjoy long showers and use hot water then you will remove a bigger amount of the protective oils from your skin which leaves it dry and itchy.
Shorter showers, cooler water and using natural soap instead of liquid gels makes your skin much less dry and prone to itching.
But what natural soap should you use instead of body wash to help with itchy skin?
We recommend Neem Oil Soap for itchy skin. Neem Oil Soap has been used for over twenty years by people who are inclined to have dry skin conditions including eczema and psoriasis. Neem Oil is a powerful skin conditioner and soother which we combine with Shea Butter and Avocado Oil in our Neem Oil Soap to moisturise skin at the same time as you wash.

What is the best natural soap for dry & itchy skin? Enter Marble Hill Neem Oil Soap…
Marble Hill Neem Oil Soap was invented by Dr Maria McGee to be the best cleanser she could make for dry, itchy skin caused by commercial washing products.

Dr McGee’s eldest son suffered from severe eczema caused by allergy to common skincare ingredients for over twenty years.
He was treated by many skin specialists whose only answer was to prescribe Stroud Cream which was causing his skin to thin and become vulnerable.
Nobody ever asked him about what he was using in the shower.
Nobody connected the shower gels with his rashes and dry, itchy skin.
Shower gels contain strong chemicals that remove skin oils very efficiently as well as strong irritating fragrances. The ingredients that provide the bubbles also dry the skin.
Dr McGee began making soap with water from the family farm as a hobby using pure natural oils and it soon became clear that when the family used her soap they felt more comfortable and far less itchy. They also stopped using body moisturiser completely.
Naturally, she wondered whether she could make a soap that could really actively help her son, not just cleanse gently but nourish and condition his skin at the same time and found out about Neem Oil which was virtually unheard of in Europe then.
Neem Oil is a powerful skin conditioner and soother which we combine with Shea Butter and Avocado Oil in our Neem Oil Soap to moisturise skin at the same time as you wash which helps keep the skin nourished, conditioned and supple

Is Neem Oil Soap pure, and does it contain any harmful ingredients?
Can I be sure that Neem Oil Soap is pure and has no harmful ingredients?
Dr McGee’s research began to find the best blend she could possibly make to help with dry and itchy skin. First of all, she made sure that all the active ingredients were pure natural oils and used water from the family spring so that her son was safe from contact with anything that could set off his symptoms.
Then she looked into whether adding particular oils could help and after many trials, she came up with the blend which has been made by hand in Ireland ever since and is now known as our Neem Oil Soap.

Dr McGee’s son has been using our Neem Oil Soap for over twenty years and (as long as he doesn’t use anything else) his skin is in great shape and he can enjoy life to the full without the steroids he has to apply every day to prevent eczema.

“I’ve had three bars of this soap now as my go-to handwashing soap. I cant imagine changing for any other, I like it so much. It’s non drying and lathers pleasingly.”
“Great soap for dealing with eczema. This soap is kind to skin and very gentle – I have eczema and my skin felt soft and the soap did not dry out my skin or aggravate my eczema. The soap is thick, luxurious and hydrated my skin.”
“I’ve been using this product for three weeks, and can honestly say it’s been a miracle cure for my face. I have been to the doctor numerous times with a dry, itchy inflamed patch of skin on my face, and no rosaeca, eczema or psoriasis creams helped, still undiagnosed. This soap has stopped the dryness and itchiness (still need to use moisturer afterwards) and has even reduced the redness in my cheek. Have used it on the whole of my face and has reduced breakouts and shine, and have been complimented on my skin. Have used it on the rest of my body and my skin definitely feels smoother afterwards. Would recommend and will buy again.”
