What Does Your Massage Oil Contain?
Massage has many virtues. But if you are using a massage oil, do you know what it contains? Lots of products these days are full of synthetic materials. So, while your muscles may feel more relaxed, your skin won’t thank you.
Synthetic massage oils
Massage is an age-old remedy. Now, medical research is proving that massage does indeed have a number of physical and mental health benefits. Even self-massage is highly effective and is something you can do at home. Some people prefer to use a massage oil, as the lubrication provides a better ‘slip’ across the muscles. Others don’t.
If you are using a massage oil, then have you stopped to look at the ingredients? Like lots of cosmetics, many massage oils are full of synthetic materials. These are harmful for the skin, making it dry and flaky. This presents something of a conundrum, because although you may enjoy the benefits of massage, your skin could be suffering as a result.
Natural skincare
At Marble Hill, we fully appreciate the benefits of massage. But as natural skincare specialists, we also know how damaging synthetic products can be. We’ve therefore created an all-natural massage oil called CannaFlex. It is made out of 100% natural ingredients, each of which serves a special purpose.
So, what is in CannaFlex, and why?
Hemp seed oil
Hemp seed oil is a powerful agent for the maintenance of skin health. Many people think this is the same as CBD, but it isn’t; it is a top-class oil in itself.
The oil from the hemp seed is highly nutritious thanks to an abundance of fatty acids and other helpful compounds. This was discovered in a 2014 study, the authors of which found that the topical application of hemp seed oil strengthens the skin and makes it better able to resist infection. The authors also suggest that hemp seed oil may be a helpful treatment for a range of skin issues, including eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, varicose eczema, lichen planus and acne rosacea
These claims are undergoing intensive research. In the meantime, the EU recognises the functions of hempseed oil as both an emollient and a skin conditioner.
Sweet almond oil and grapeseed oil
Sweet almond oil is a traditional cosmetic oil rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and E. It is widely used as a soothing emollient for dry skin.
